How much EO to add?

Ok I've never made rice bags before and I am making them for sinus colds. I have Lavendar, Eucalyptus and Peppermint EO's and was wondering how much of each should I use. I am using flax seed as the inner and I'm making 2 eye bags and 2 knee bags. I will probably be using the whole bag of flax seed for all 4 of the rice bags (24 oz) but I'm not possitive. Any ideas on how much of each EO I should add? Thanks

I got mine at a natural food store and it was $4.95 for a 24oz bag.

I got mine at our co-op out of the bulk bin for around $1.50 a pound.

As for the EO, I just put maybe five or six drops in the bowl I was using, stirred it around so it mixed with all of it, then divvied up the seeds (I made seven bean bags and a larger owie bag with the batch). I wanted to err on the side of too little because I didn't want it to be overpowering, and figured that I could always pull a seam and add more if it ever lost it's smell. Plus, now that I've used them a bit, the scent becomes much more noticeable once it's been heated.

So do you think I should put 5-6 drops of each or would that be too much?

Re: How much EO to add?

I would start with 2 of each mix and add 1 more drop at a time til you have the desired smell you want. too little you can always add to but to much and you cannot take it away. Plus those EO are very strong and you do not need much
