Re: Wool Wash and Care Instructions

So I need some help with some wool I just got off of FSOT. I got 2 soakers and they feel waxey. They feel like someone just took Lanolin and rubbed it all into the soakers to lanolize them. Do I need to strip them of the lanolin, and if so how do I do that? The yarn feels stiff because there is so much lanolin.

subbing...still too nervous to try it out. Guess I'm an acrylic junkie! (even though I haven't actually tried them on a baby yet)

Re: Wool Wash and Care Instructions

LOVE this thread! This was just what I was looking for today. I just got a new pair of Babyology longies and have some shorties coming in the mail. It's my first pair of non-homemade wool. I am lanozlizing as I write this and so far so good. Usually when I lanolize I get big clumps of lansinoh but putting it in the microwave and then adding the baby wash seems to have worked!

I haven't read through all the posts so I'm not sure if s/o already suggested this or if it already exists but would it be a good idea to create a sticky of this since it's a frequently asked questions? Not sure how to go about doing that or who makes those decisions. Just a thought!

Wow...what a fantastic thread!

I've got to fight to get some BF/solids poo stains out of my natural colored soakers. Was hoping I'd find some magic here, but I guess they're probably just stained permanently. The sun didn't really help.

Also, I got blue dye bled from one soaker to those same natural colored ones, too. Any hope?

Great thread! Just got 2 used wool covers that are in good shape, but I haven't used them yet. I was afraid too!
Thanks!

Re: Wool Wash and Care Instructions

Can I use Aveeno baby shampoo to help break up the lanolin?
