I pumped off and on until our first was a year (I'm a teacher, so I didn't pump on breaks). I always pumped more than she ate. I was able to stop pumping at work, nurse when home, and had a large enough freezer stash to continue to just get breast milk for another 3 months.
With this one, there has always been enough, but rarely any extra for the last few weeks. I think part if it is my schedule is no longer consistent and I always pump twice at work, but the times vary. I'm working on it!
What has worked best for me is:
Nurse just before leaving and as soon as I pick up
Pump first thing in the morning
Have a schedule and stick to it at work

Good luck!
