Just wondering how often false positives happen?

Re: False Positives

I think they only happen if there is some other reason you have hcg in your blood, which you would prolly know about.

Re: False Positives

On www.peeonastick.com they show that there has been some "false positives" with the +/- tests. The dye bleeds up the strip and then collects to one side appearing to be a positive, but really a defect. I think it was Clear Blue.

Re: False Positives

I had a false positive about a month before I got pregnant with my DD. It was at a clinic too. I had a positive and then went to see my dr who did a blood test and that came back negative, so just for fun I went back to the clinic and had another urine test done and again it came up positive. So when the next month I started having the same symptoms I had a blood test done instead and it was positive. I guess some urine tests are a bit to sensitive. lol

Re: False Positives

false positives that aren't evap lines are usually caused by a very early m/c or chemical pregnancy .. unless they are on the +/- tests then i've heard the dye can run or something ..

here is a link with some better information...
