I usually just wear a shirt with stretch and either a scoop or v neck. Soft cup bra that will fold under. Then just pull the boob out over top. I never bothered with nursing tops or bras.

I wear cheap walmart nursing bras (I'm a small C right now...was a small B before baby) with an old navy tank layered under a tshirt. I like having the clasp on the nursing bra, but didn't like nursing shirts... I've always been a tshirt kind of person and didn't care for the styles of nursing clothes...most look old ladyish to me!

Re: How important are nursing shirts/bras?
I wear a nursing bra and just a normal top. I pull my top down though, I hate having bunched up shirts over my nursing baby.

Re: How important are nursing shirts/bras?
I actually don't mind wearing a normal bra and just two layers. Sometimes I wear a nursing tank or bra, but I don't like the way they look as much as my regular bras. I'm a 34DD so I just pull the normal bra cup down as much as possible and it works.
I do have about 3 nursing tanks, but they are cheaper ones from Target. I wouldn't put a lot of money into buying nursing attire, but that's just me.

I totally recommend Anita nursing bras for busty ladies. Also, converting your own bras is an excellent idea. Most nursing bras suck. And don't be afraid of underwire, just make sure it fits properly and you aren't squishing boobage with the wire. You'll want some camis too, although I just use them around the house because they aren't supportive (no underwire). I personally don't like Bravado because the elastic is wide and tight.
I go braless at night and "sleep" in this shirt from the gap http://www.gap.com/browse/product.do...d=1&pid=809180 I have several in long and short sleeves. They are PERFECT for cosleeping. I have found that most nursing tops don't work well for big boobs. The hole is too small and they all emphasize my back fat ![]() I hope this helps! |
