Re: If Group B Strep + how long did you have to stay?

I am positive and will be getting antibiotics. My Obgyn didn't mention any follow up tests or the need to stay longer. My hospital's standard is 2 nights.

Re: If Group B Strep + how long did you have to stay?

I was GBS + and had a home birth, so I didn't have a discharge or anything. I ended up not getting meds b/c by the time the midwife arrived, I was too far along (I labored really fast... called her 1 hour in, she arrived 1.5 hours later, and my boy was born 1.5 hours after that) and she was having trouble getting a vein anyway. So we kept an eye on him for the first few days (even though they said symptoms appear with 24 hours) and he was fine.

No antibiotics, stayed 24hours after birth.

I had it with ds1. He was a C-section baby. Both baby and I were put on antibiotics and discharged at 48 hours. This is the normal stay for a C-section baby at our local hospital. So no extra time for either of us.
