It's a natural sugar that makes the bacteria unable to cling to the wall of the urinary tract. Works great. Some other natural things I have used for UTIs are herbal teas. Dandelion leaf, alfalfa, marshmallow leaf and root, and slippery elm are all beneficial. I take a tea bag of each and brew a whole quart and drink it over the period of the day.

Also cranberry juice that is unsweetened does a nice job, the stuff we are used to has loads of sugar in it, we don't want that, but the unsweetened cranberry is really good.

Also I cut out all sugar when I have a uti until its gone.

Just some things I have learned, I have had quite a few UTIs and these things work better than antibiotics for me.

I am feeling so much better. I have had a bowel mvmt and peed so I get to go home now. Just wtg to be discharged now. My headache and muscle aches are slowly going away too so I'm sure my infection is clearing up.

I also use homeopathy. I get immed results from natural methods. the abx take too long (I have a kidney disease so I am prone to UTIs)
