Thumbs up For all you C-section mamas.

I haven't read much of this article due to the crying it brought. My births were traumatic so getting this close to thinking of them causes me to become emotional.

I did like what I read though. Very supportive and encouraging. I hope you mamas can enjoy it.

I've had 2 csections and have a third in the plans. This brought tears to my eyes.

So nice to see somebody dismantling the fallacies about c-sections.

Good article! I've had 4 c-sections and am proud of them because they have given me 4 beautiful children. C-sections are just another form of birth we are fortunate to have.

Re: For all you C-section mamas.

I had a c-section, failed induction. After 24 hours of pitocin I was ready to call it quits!

They told me he couldn't fit into my pelvis, he was still at -3 when I decided on a c-section. Has anybody heard of that?

Re: For all you C-section mamas.

My first c-section was so traumatic and I was sure unnecessary. It took me more than a year to be able to talk about it without crying. Then I tried for a VBAC but the scar started to rupture so I had c-section #2. It was a bummer but I felt like I had tried and that time I had a midwife and that made it a lot better. The third baby was this year and it was a scheduled c section. I cried again as I was getting the epidural. I would have given anything not to have had that surgery again, but there was the baby, and here he is, and that part at least is wonderful.

I really hate when people say "at least you have a beautiful baby" because it's true, of course, but not the point. The health and well being of the mother matters too and I'm allowed to be sad about it, even if all the rest of the story is truly wonderful, and it is.

I think we do all need to support each other in our choices and our experiences. Birth is such an intense emotional experience no matter how it happens.

Let's love each other and lift each other up as mothers. We all can use it.

This article does exactly that and the photos are wonderful.

thank you for posting it.

Yes, definitely heard of that. Especially if the father's family is bigger boned than mom's.
Mine was at -3, too, though they said he had plenty of room. Just tilted his chin up and to the side. Almost made it harder to know he could fit, but I was on the clock for infection risk. :/
