Re: March chatter

That is gorgeous, but surely out of my price range and I am taken care of now! Thank you so much for thinking of me.

Hazel had a big normal poo today, phew. Her dr said that her bile ducts could have been inflamed or plugged due to virus. I am certain it is due to immunizations. I felt bullied into getting "caught up" and allowed more than the two I normally stick to. For me, it correlates with the high fever, upset tummy, extra spit up etc. Lilly used to have such awful gut reactions and loose safe foods after an immunization. Hazel could easily be the same. I am sticking to my slow guns from here on out. Thankful it was an acute event and doesn't point to anything big.

My last labor was so different for sure. Constant contractions for days but no progress. But when it switched, it switched hard and fast. It is so amazing how the same body can do things so different!

Re: March chatter

So glad Hazel is okay. My last baby did the white poop as a newborn, maybe a few months old, it was so scary. It was just the end of a sickness and went back to normal.

Also glad your dad is doing better! Wish it were easier on you.

My 10 room birthing center had 6 births in 4 hours last night! I can't imagine.

Re: March chatter

I'm glad Hazel is ok!

Where do you white flour hating hippies buy things?

I need to switch flours. I'm thinking buckwheat and brown rice flour?

What about almond flour?

I'm looking at Thrive market. Anywhere else I should look?

Re: March chatter

I love white flour but will tolerate whole wheat in moderation hehe. I am no help. Whole grain wheat was a major trigger for Lilly so we stuck to white.

Re: March chatter

Lol at the flour hating hippies! I don't hate white flour so I can't help either. We mix our flour in a big tub, half white and half whole wheat. We get ours in bulk at a local store run by the Amish. Why do you feel the need to switch?

Theresa--I'm so glad she is ok!!! Immunizations are a tough topic. We have everything from fully vaxed to completely unvaxed in our house. Do what feels right for your family and don't let anybody bully you about it. Even if what feels right is different from one child to the next. How likely is it that H will have FRPIES (not sure that's exactly right, but I'm sure you'll know what I'm talking about). Is it genetic?

Yeah it's crazy how different labor can be. With A I woke up with contractions at 5am and had them all day long. They gradually got stronger and stronger, but never any closer together--they stayed 10-15 minutes apart right up until she was born (1am or so). It was crazy! You think once you've been through it a few times you have things figured out, but nope.

Re: March chatter

Jen, FPIES is not genetic. There is no real way to determine if a child will have it. I am nearly certain she does have it. I am slightly in denial. She had her first reaction (mucous and bloody stool) at UofM when they gave her contrast with a bunch of filler flavorings. I am really scared to feed her. From a DS standpoint, I am supposed to start solids early to try and prevent bad oral aversions. From an FPIES standpoint, I should delay solids until her gut has closed and rested to baseline. I am so so torn.
