My Mood:
Want to make longies/shorties, have ??

I am not an expert when it comes to crocheting but my mom is! I need to know what wool yarn do you recommend me to get and where to buy them. And, how do I know the sizes of the longies/shorties I need to have and any website information about this. Does it matter any kind of wool or does it have to be specific kind that wont cause harsh to my baby's skins?

Thanks!

Re: Want to make longies/shorties, have ??

Hi! I am in the middle of knitting my first pair of longies. I am using Malabrigo merino wool, which is YUMMY soft but I (of course, after I had already started them) have heard that it is better for newborns and/or somewhat less mobile babies, because it has a tendency to pill.

The best recommendations I have heard for wool are:

Blue Faced Leicester
Targhee
100Purewool

I'm sure there are many others - what I did, because I also had no idea about sizing, was to buy a pattern off HC - that way, I have info. for all sizes.....

HTH - I'm going to post pics of mine when they are done! Yippee! Happy crocheting and/or knitting!
