Re: How to look forward to labor?

I'm just excited to finally have a baby and labor and delivery are the necessary steps to achieve that. I agree with the fear-tension-pain thing so I'm always trying to practice keeping my face relaxed (relaxed face and mouth= relaxed cervix and vagina...totally works!) and remind myself that yes it will hurt but there is a reason for it and it serves a purpose and is nothing to fear. The more I tell myself that now, while sane and definitely pain free, the more I think I will be able to remember that once labor does start. I had some non uterine back pain the other night and when I did my breathing and told myself it's just back muscle aches, it's like the pain instantly went away. As soon as I stopped the relaxation breathing, the intensity pIcked up again. And because I was amazed, I kept stopping to see if it was just coincidence. Nice to see it works for other pain!
