S/O Reaction to Results Poll - for funsies

This is a spin off to the experiment Im running on the sanitary-ness of CDing (as soon as DS wakes up from his morning nap)

And also, this is inspired by DH's snarky question to me: "but what if you find tons and tons of bacteria in the diaper water or on the diapers? what will you do with your precious diapers?"

Just a thought:

Are you washing in hot or cold water? That could make a difference since you kill some bacterias when you use hot. Maybe you'll have to do the test twice once using hot and once using cold.

You should respond that you are buffing up your LO's immune system by exposing him to bacteria. And also point out that CDs are still better for the baby b/c they do NOT expose him/her to UNnatural things like toxic chemicals and also prevent diaper rash. You are also contributing far less to our landfills, both in the way of human waste and solid waste. And depending on whether you are a HyenaCart addict, you could also point out that you are saving money.

I've used cd's for over 4y--never had a child get sick from them so that means more to me than anything else. Plus the chemicals in sposies are just way more than any bacteria imo.

i think i'd blame it on your shared washers and keep using the cd's. seriously though from what i read there is bacteria in so many places around the house that i don't think i'd be surprised to find bacteria in the water. i recently read something to the affect of washing machines being one of the germiest places in your house!!!

While I think it's really fun to do experiments, I did see on Mythbusters a long time ago that they put toothbrushes in several places in the house, including the kitchen, and at the end of the experiment EVERY tooth brush had fecal bacteria on it- so germs are everywhere and no one is taking away my CDs LOL!

Since I expect there to be bacteria, I doubt it will change anything for me. But, I am hoping that we see almost as much on the t-shirt. I do wonder about the effect the water temperature will have on the experiment.

But, either way I am excited to see what you find.

I expect there to be bacteria, but I think that we are WAY too concerned about bacteria in this day and age. I'd rather build up my immune system than use anti-bacterial anything! And my DD is allergic to sposies, so we're NOT going back there!
