I'm going to do another no sugar or maybe even whole 30 this coming spring after my little girl is here & we've established nursing.

Best advice I can give is plan thoroughly & don't give up for at least 2 weeks.

Re: Anyone ever give up sugar?

I have given up sugar and carbs, feel fantastic! Actually following the ketogenic diet where you only have certain amount of macros per day. So you aren't starving, and the weight seems to come off like magic. There is a really good group on Facebook called ketogenic women win. It is a private group, but you can asked to be added. One thing though if you have a mans name in your Facebook signup they won't let you join. But tons of awesome stuff on how to lose weight and get in shape

Re: Anyone ever give up sugar?

I am currently off sugar for 6 weeks. I don't feel it as much but it gets worse when I am PMSing. So, I eat a lot of bananas. So far so good, I am halfway done through week 4

When I gave it sugar it was great. I didn't crave it and overall felt better. But you have to be vigilant because it is in almost everything.

Re: Anyone ever give up sugar?

We did. For about 3 years.

We were not eating any processed food as it contained sugar in one form or another. We did not eat any fruits. We only ate vegetables, lentils, nuts, rice & more vegetables. We took fish oil every day. We ate eggs for breakfast. We did not eat any refined wheat flour (i.e no baked goods or bread etc!). No Caffine as there was no need for it.

We did not have kids when we went out on this diet & we were TTC for a very long time.
1st month into this diet, no change whatsoever.
3 months into this diet, I lost quite a bit of unwanted fat, without even doing much exercise.
4 months into this diet, no period pain at all!! I did not even feel like I was having period when I had it!
6 months into this diet, my skin was glowing. No cream, makeup etc needed.
9 months into this diet, we conceived our miracle baby!

I continued with this diet right until I conceived my second baby. I was feeling very nauseated with my second one, so I had to have some sugar (i.e fruits and a tsp of sugar here and there per day).

I am planning to get back on this lifestyle again.
