Re: Raw milk

When I buy it it's $3.50 for a half gallon. I personally don't like milk and bought it for my milk loving hubby but he thought it was weird that the fat separated. I was excited just to be able to buy it...

Re: Raw milk

I love raw milk. My pediatrician actually recommended that I start drinking raw milk instead of regular because I am breastfeeding. She also said she would give her baby raw milk over formula. I have only found Organic Pastures here in California. Organic Pastures also sells colostrum.

Re: Raw milk

forgive my ignorance, but what exactly do you all mean by "raw" milk? does this mean, straight from the cow milk? or does it have at least something minimal done to it (like refrigeration, pasteurization, straining. ect)? here in nicaragua, you can buy fresh milk (as in still warm from the cow) for just 9 cordobas a liter. comes out to around $1.50 for the gallon.. pretty sweet deal for me if we are all talking about the same thing.

Re: Raw milk

Raw milk means not pasteurized. And generally the cows are free grazing from local farms. $1.50 a gallon is great! Wish we could get raw milk for that price here!

Re: Raw milk

We've been drinking raw milk for about 12 years and love it. Did a lot of research before we made the switch. We get it in glass 1/2 gallon jars and it lasts a full week till the next delivery. Our provide is organic certified, which is an added bonus.

Thats all we drink, we get it at a local farm, and its $5 a gallon. When you first go, you need to pay a glass bottle deposit, but as long as you bring the bottle back, you never have to pay it again.

www.realmilk.com is an AWESOME site. It will let you know where there are farms in the area that sell it...

HTH! It's totally worth it IMO, and I guess if $12 a gallon was all I could find, I'd probably spend it. That's how important it is to me for my kids to have "living food, full of nutrition" versus dead disease causing stuff...

We raw milk!

What she said ^ !! I drank 1-2 gallons per week all through my pregnancy and now it's my favorite energy booster/quick snack that I am a busy breastfeeding mom. Make sure it's a good, safe, clean, trustworthy source and drink away! We LOVE it!
