Smile Mattress help

Ok so here we are finally getting settled and I realize how old the children are! Time for a twin mattress for those big kid moments when everyone sleeps peacefully in their own little spot (I think)... Sniff sniff ... Oh how time flies... Anyway I need an organic mattress option that I can order and have delivered. It has to be organic wool & organic cotton ... Can have springs but doesn't have to... I prefer mattress to futon though. I've found a few really nice looking ones. White lotus looks great would love feedback for that. Its ok if there is some latex in the core but doesn't have to have it and its not so much if a pro as fine. They are to allergic to it. I am if prolonged exposure... We have lots of rubber toys and I only react when I'm holding them for a long time and they haven't had an issue so likely find but we usually do mattresses with out it. My biggest problem in searching for a mattress is price... Money... $$$... As usual its the thorn in my side. These things are pricey and I am broke. Not usually an issue as we don't but things... Usually... But this would open up the sleeping space/ options :-) which were trying to do at this point. So we can sell things. Like I said we don't buy things. We don't care about stuff and chances are if we have it we have it for a specific reason or... Its for sale. This is a rough year for $ more so than others have been & will be :-/ so I need to aim for under $800 for a regular length twin mattress... That would be amazing. But I want to see all the suggestions under $1300 too. Next year we hope to actually furnish another bedroom :-) but for this year if we sell some stuff next week and buy this ? I know naturpedic has a couple but they contain bio synthetics which I'm not sure I want the kids sleeping on... I'm pretty OCD about bedding... Thank you so much for all your help!!! You guys are great!

Re: Mattress help

I'm in the same spot as you we're needing to buy 2 twin mattresses and have been looking at White Lotus (but also would love feedback on the company and their mattresses) and naturepedic. I'm actually ok (I think) with a non organic mattress but they have to have no flame retardants. I have also been looking at Room and Board. Their mattresses aren't organic but they say they don't use chemical flame retardants.

Interesting info. I know a lot if stuff since 2007 has been really toxic :/ but definitly hoping someone comes along and gets us one feedback so tough these days its like there are all these regulations and they're not really protecting us or informing us from and about everything... Let me know what you end up doing and how it works out if you make a decision before me :-)

If you're okay with futons, Small Wonders is fantastic. High quality materials and customer service to match. We have a wool one and plan to buy a twin when we make a floor bed for our LO.

Re: Mattress help

I know this is an old post, but we bought DS' through Sleep-EZ and are about to order DD's--they have really excellent customer service and their natural line comes in at $750 w/ free shipping for twin.

I'm watching this post, as well, looking for a good wool/ cotton/ organic option that doesn't break the bank!

Re: Mattress help

Good mattress is never cheap, that's what I learnt after having tried dozens of them ... I personally prefer memory foam ones, and I noticed a lot of people share this preference of mine. As for the organic mattress, check Happy Beds Signature 2000, it is one of the best organic models for sure. It has belgian damask cover (100% cotton ), pocket springs, very good ventilation and firmness. You can find detailed information at this article , which also provides with detailed review on top 10 mattrasses of nowadays. There was a time when I worked at a store with home goods, so that I know a lot about things like these.
