Favorite extra seat?

I am thinking about getting an extra carseat for DHs car that is compatible for either baby.

So ideally it'd be easy on the pocketbook, good for extended RFing tall babies, and non rethread harness (so I can quickly change it depending on the baby).

Any reccomendations?

Re: Favorite extra seat?

A graco contender is our spare. We got it for less than $100, and I love it for a spare because of the no rethread harness--so I can pop whoever I need to in it. I'm not sure what the rear face limit is but I think it's pretty decent. It installs easily in our town and country and in our ram (big van).

Favorite extra seat?

We have this Eddie Bauer Deluxe 2-in-1 Convertible Car Seat, Crawford

It's been a good spare.

The reasons I don't love it:

Buckles are a little harder to press and release
Stains a little easier

The reasons I like it:

Easy to install
Light
NARROW
Easily adjustable harness
$$$

Re: Favorite extra seat?

We have the cosco scenera next, and it doesn't meet your requirements but it was $35!!! The buckle is definitely difficult, and the harness has to be rethreaded, but I'm ok with that for the cost. I didn't want to spend much money on a seat we use only occasionally. Our other seat is no-rethread, so if I have an extra kid I can adjust that one for the extra and put DS in the cosco.

Re: Favorite extra seat?

We're currently using the Chicco keyfit 30 and the Maxi Cosi Vello 70 as our main seats and we have an apt 50 as a spare. Like the scenera the buckle is a real pain but it's lightweight, easy to install, and in a pinch my mom can handle it if it needs to be cleaned. Plus I got it on sale for $40 which was a huge selling point.

Did you ever get an extra seat K? I have a Graco extend2fit for an back up. It fits Morgan RFing and my small 5 yr old dd FFing. I think it makes a great seat to use between kiddos.

Graco Contender/Size4Me. They are the same seat. Awesomeness.
