Unhappy Disappointed

Usually I see so many responses of advice and help but there haven't been many responses to the thread I started about the mama who needs links about homeschooling. Many peple have looked but there are only 2 replys and neither provided any links for her. If the topic is religion or vaccination or some other hot topic, everyone wants to give their but a request for information on homeschooling and everyone stays silent? What is wrong? I'm not trying to bash anyone, I just thought that this was the place for helpful information and I am disappointed that I didn't get any to pass along.

Re: Disappointed

I am sorry I can't help you on it maybe you could try a google search and gather some info you feel insightful for her? I hoverd over that thread but I didn't go in it.
I am sorry you feel that way.

You would think that since there is a WHOLE forum for that subject you would get a answer huh?

Re: Disappointed

I'm sorry you feel that way too. I also read your other thread but I really couldn't think of anything that would help you. Most of what I read before deciding to homeschool were books on the subject and truth be told, I don't really remember the names of most of them (mind you I read them almost 8 years ago now). The only one I still remember the name of is the only one I didn't sell because I still use it which is The Well Trained Mind, which isn't a book I recommend to just any new or potential homeschooler. I usually only recommend it to someone looking specifically for a classical approach. Like the previous poster suggested, maybe a google search would yeild better results.

I hope you find what you are looking for....

Re: Disappointed

I'm not sure what kind of links are you looking for as I did not see the OP.
This one is really helpful~ http://homeschooling.gomilpitas.com/
If you are looking for more then that, poke around the link pages here~http://groups.msn.com/RestRefreshmen...rit-FilledLife

And there is always~ homeschooloasis.com

I hope that helps. My computer time is limited and I am still finding my way around this wonderful group. I don't see all the posts. But I do try my best to help out when I can.
HTH!

Re: Disappointed

Did you se the sticky at the top of this forum with helpful HS links?

Try not to take it personally. It takes extra time and effort to reply to a post where you have to add links, so maybe it's just that the HS moms haven't had the time to do that yet. And try to ignore the "read" colum. I think a lot of people read for curiosity, but don't have anything to input. It's not anything to get worked up about ((HUGS))

Re: Disappointed

Thank you. I will take a look at the links. I am glad to hear that people aren't responding because they don't know of any links. I jumped to some conclusions from the replys that I did recieve. I thought alot of people just didn't want to give the info. My faith is renewed. Thanks mamas for all your help. I am glad I started this thread so my ignorance could be revealed! Jumping to conclusions never helped anyone right!? I do hope I didn't offend anyone though, it was not my intention.

I forgot it was there! Like I said, I am glad my ignorance is reavealed so I can learn something. I didn't even think about most of the other factors because i did get offended at the replys I got.

My Mood:
Re: Disappointed

I didn't read the other thread. My reason was... its a very personal choice, AND mostly, I deleted ALL my HS links. I HS- but my printer has issues nd many were for printables. The other reason is I HATE broken links and the personal pages break a lot. Plus I find I need *new* info every 2 months or so as their skills develop. Mostly though my links are chaotic and disorganized to the point that its EASIER for me to just re-google it Also this is a busy time of year for most HSers. ((hugs)) sorry we weren't as useful as we could be.
