Re: Homeschooling reimbursement from the state?

I don't know. I was considering HS for my kids and, if I did, I'd take reimbursement or let my kids participate in activities there. We pay the taxes for our kids to be there, we might as well get as much out of that as possible, KWIM?

Re: Homeschooling reimbursement from the state?

Any Link to this info??

I think that it WOULDN'T be in our state since any money spent on ANYTHINE for schooling isn't even tax deductable AND even though we pay "school tax" our children ARE NOT allowed to have anything to do with the public school system EXCEPT we can still be hit up by PS during fundraisers :-)

Where can I find info like that? I am SO hoping Virgina does that because we cannot afford diddly squat!

I haven't read everyone's posts, so I apologize if this is redundant...

I used to work in our public school's business office. I'm a former accountant turned SAHM.... Love my new position!!! But that's another story.

Anyway, it was a small school district, so we only had one family in the area homeschooling and being reimbursed for activities. I'm sure there were more homeschoolers, but we only dealt w/the one.

I would ask your local public school's superintendent's office. They should know whether funding is available in your area.

I'm thankful to say that it is available in our area if we should decide to go the homeschool route.

HTH!
