We use Happy Heinys pocket trainers (no absorbency, add what you want). They run huge though, size M swallows my 28lb two year old. Even so, they don't leak often and she can pull them up and down fine.

I am just beginning myself, but I chose to use Imse Vimse trainers with a
bummis pull up whisper wrap and an insert in between the two. I want him to feel wet and to think that he's not wearing something that resembles a diaper.
