This is because a 1 lb pkg can cost double for me to ship to California rather than ohio. I'm not going to add $5 into the ppd price and have the pkg actually cost me $10 to ship (and visa versa)

It depends on the item to me! If I know it can ship first class or media mail and it's not listed as ppd, I'm leary. But if it can't AND it doesn't have ppd, I usually just ask for the shipping estimate. I don't mind! If I'm interested in a bunch from a seller AND it's ppd, that's bonus to me! I think this "game" is all about risk; therefore, paypal is extremely necessary! I wouldn't pay any other way! I've had some bad transactions and each time Paypal made the right calls and got things taken care of.

Most of the time it is cheaper to do priority if you want insurance. A PFRE is $5.05 and has insurance included.

Oh I know--I am only doing priority now bc of the built in insurance, but that is new & some folks still seem to be shipping FC+insurance & DC.

Different strokes for different folks.
That's assuming they have lots of things you want. That's rarely the case for me

Re: Are we not supposed to sell PPD any more?

It costs a different amount depending on where you ship, so if I list prices on certain things PPD, I would be getting more or less for the item depending on location. To ship to NJ costs me wayyy less than shipping to CA, kwim? Unless it's flat rate.

Re: Are we not supposed to sell PPD any more?

This is why I bought a scale very early into this b/s/t CD thing. The first few transactions I made I was losing money by trying to guess how much things would cost to ship but offering them ppd. It didn't take many sales to really appreciate those online businesses that always offer free shipping; that shipping thing can get expensive!
