"Before baby" To-do lists?

I've been nesting a lot lately and after reading my post and seeing so many other mamas nesting, too, I thought I'd post a fun thread about what's still on our "Before baby to-do" lists. Mine is huge...not sure it will all get done because I usually lose ALL steam at 8 mo pregnant.

Baby related:
-paint DD's/baby's room
-paint corner shelves I scored off CL and hang
-move glider rocker chair into room (have to move swing out to living room though)
-wash everything (stroller padding, carseat, carseat cover, cosleeper padding, swing padding)
-wash boy/gn clothes and bedding for PNP
-buy fabric for curtains
-buy coming home outfit and blanket
-pack baby's diaper bag for hospital
-make and hang curtains (DH to hang rod still)
-make call list for hospital (came in SO handy w/ DD)
-make packing list for suitcase (in case DH has to pack for me)
-wash/sanitize breast pump parts/bottles/nipple shields

Non-baby related, but need to do also:
-get all papers/receipts filed away
-update pregnancy journal
-massive clean of entire house (ugh)
-update address books
-update DD's baby book (So, so behind)

If we have time/money:
-buy shelves for basement storage room
-buy shelving system for craft room/office (and have DH install it)
-make some generic cards
-try to design easy Xmas cards to make this year
-get Tupperware files up to date for 2009 (mostly done)
-record notes in wedding albums (been on my to-do list for 4 years )

I'm sure there's more, but that's all I can think of right now. Oh, I need to get our sitter plans figured out for when I actually have the baby. Where DS and DD will go or if someone can come here to watch them. And if they can handle CD's or if we need to buy sposies for DD.

Re: "Before baby" To-do lists?

Mine is also really big. Let me focus on what I did yesterday/today off of my list. My bedroom is now 90% painted. There is probably about 30 minutes worth of painting left. Hopefully DH and I can finish it tonight. I also got DH to go through all of his books (he is a book and magazine hoarder). He got rid of 3 good size boxes of books. I took all of those, plus about 8 bags of clothes, and a bag of household to a thrift store today. I also have some stuff to take to church for needy families this evening. I deep cleaned the outside of the oven, a kitchen wall, and the floor in the kitchen. I cleaned out the stairway to the basement (it collects junk all the time and I don't know if I have ever completely cleaned it out in the 4 years we have lived here. My mom and I took the border down in DDs room (will be nursery) and I moved everything except the bed into her new bedroom. All this plus the everyday dishes and laundry. I may get caught up someday.

My mom helped me paint and said that she has never seen my house looking so good.

Re: "Before baby" To-do lists?

I don't really have a to do list. We got some furniture from friends and I washed all diapers and clothes whenever I brought them home from the thrift store/store.
The baby will stay in our master bedroom so there is nothing to paint or stuff.

What I have to do is: deep clean the house.....still waiting for the right mood *haha*

Re: "Before baby" To-do lists?

Huge list here, too.... mostly involving getting birthing supplies (like our birthing tub) and sewing diapers for the baby (and PP mama cloth for me). The big furniture is more or less in place and the newborn clothes and diapers are washed and put away (everything that we are keeping from DS - we do still need more in the way of clothes, but that will await upcoming baby showers).

Re: "Before baby" To-do lists?

Oh, I am so overwhelmed. I'm hoping to get some of it done this weekend while DH is home an extra day.
-declutter whole house and have a GIGANTIC garage sale
-move everything out of the office downstairs to family room
-paint that room and install new closet doors for my toddler
-set up furniture and decorate for my toddlers new room
-get a cradle for the new baby
-deep clean everything, especially moldy windows

Yikes, we had better get going. I can't believe how fast this pregnancy has gone.

Re: "Before baby" To-do lists?

Ugh, almsot to much to list. DH is finishing the basement, so a lot of plans are on hold because of that. DS will be moving to a new room once we can move all the stuff that's in there now into the finished basement. But once the basement is done....

- Buy bunkbed and comforter sets for DS - ON HOLD-we're keeping him in his crib
- Move DS into his new room
- Wash all baby stuff - DONE
- Sort through old baby clothes - DONE
- Organize baby room
- Organize ALL kid/baby clothes - DONE
- Organizing my new laundry room! - DONE
- Then hopeful I'll have a minute to organize basement into a little bit of order! - DONE

Until then, I'll be:
- Making a baby quilt
- Buying a coming home outfit for the baby - DONE
- Talking DH into getting a rocker or glider - DONE!
- Sewing curtains for baby's room

Re: "Before baby" To-do lists?

Yeah~ugh. I still really need to clean my room and my darling's record room~which will become our room while our bedroom becomes our daughter's room. Both rooms have been catch-alls and are literally TRASHED. I then hope to paint the boys' room and Hazel's room.

I've already moved all kinds of things around downstairs to make room in our small living room for a loveseat~so nice to ALL be able to sit and watch something together rather than have half floor and half sofa sitters! I decluttered quite a bit downstairs too, but alas, it still needs lots of work! Ah the STUFF that builds up!!!!! Overwhelming.... (((((HUGS))))) sandi
