Re: Pitocin induction with Vbac?

You have a lot of good feedback, my doctor said she would do a very small amount of Pit. if we had to. I am going for my second VBAC in a few weeks. Another doctor in her practice suggested castor oil or "anything at that point" to get things going naturally.

We did EPO a week before (gradually uping the dosage) and a little baby dance the night before got things going.

Best of luck, it's NO fun going over that is for sure.

Re: Pitocin induction with Vbac?

I needed an induction (again) last pregnancy due to uncontrollable BP issues and I was a VBAC. I was completely closed, thick, posterior, and baby was high - zero bishop score. Pitocin was started and only had to be bumped a few times before my body kicked into gear and my delivery was 9 hours start to finish. I wouldn't hesitate to induce as a VBAC again providing I need it. I actually changed practices this time around because my old practice no longer will use pitocin on a VBAC.... I knew with my history of preeclampsia and HELLP I may need another induction so I found a practice that is comfy with VBAC induction.
