awww!! i forgot about flax seed!! We don't drink cow milk here, just rice milk. but i could easily switch to flax seed milk! he doesn't drink it but uses it on cereal and I make him smoothies w/it. so that would be perfect. plus, if i bake, ground flax goes in everything. awesome!

Re: Speech Difficulties

If you don't like what the school is saying and they won't retest, go into your ped and get a referral to a private speech therapist. I asked around and found a ST with rave reviews that took our insurance. His ST has been amazing and he's made great progress.
I was a wait and see mom with DS1. He was non-verbal until 3.5yo. Honestly, I wish I would have started him earlier. Every therapist I've talked to said it's best to start ST early and not have to deal with the frustration of an older child with bad speech patterns.

Re: Speech Difficulties

Just wanted to post an update to the situation.

My son has been accepted to the kindergarten of an excellent charter school. We have decided to enroll him, and work with him through the summer to improve his speech. We hope that once he is in and around other kids every day he will have more motivation to improve, or that his teacher will be able to back us up in getting him re-evaluated.

We are super excited and a little nervous, but feel that this might be what he needs.
