Help for Early Risers

My almost 4 year old DD is an early extreme early riser. Lately it has been between 5:30 and 6 am. She has now taken to waking DS so that she has someone to play with her. I don't expect that they sleep until 10 am, but 7am would be nice. I actually don't mind if she gets up and plays in her room.

Any ideas on how to get her to sleep longer or stay in her room quietly until 7am?

have you talked with her about how baby brother needs his sleep? Might also give her a little list of things to do when she wakes up. Like go to bathroom, cover bed with blanket, play with toys. Use a picture chart.

Now could be a good time to teach her how to read a clock! DD went thru that phase (and still occasionally does) when she'd wake up at 5. So, we told her that she couldn't get out of bed until 7am, or at least stay in her room till then. She can read a digital clock for now...
