Re: LICE! Now what?

We recently hired a local pro company when our kids got them and we hadn't been able to get rid of them on our own. They used a good metal lice comb (not the plastic one from the drugstore) and thoroughly combed through everyone's hair. Then they had us repeat the combing for a few days, then once a week for a month. No chemicals, no spraying. And it worked, and worked well.
The drugstore chemical shampoos and sprays are very irritating for most kids' eyes and skin, and many lice have developed an immunity to them anyway. And the spray for linens and furniture isn't necessary because the lice can't live long without being on a human host. A hot wash for sheets and pillows is enough.
The key is getting a good metal comb. The plastic ones from the drugstore don't work well. We use the "Nit Free Terminator" comb that I ordered from Amazon.

Re: LICE! Now what?

I think that is the comb we have too. It works really well.
