Re: Fitness Challenge

I have completed day one and the move I'm most dreading is pushups. I hate pushups.

Go Jen Go! I'd trade pushups for Burpees.

I'm joining but I have to modify. My goal is to be back on THM and I want to increase my walking big time in preparation of a hike that's coming up in a couple of weeks.

Re: Fitness Challenge

I've been going to my friend's workout class every morning at 5:30, M-F. It is intense and wears me out so I'm counting that. I can see the difference already (I did it twice a week for a few months in the fall and I've been back at it for a few weeks now). My belly doesn't stick out as much and I have lost 5 pounds (after being stuck at the same weight for 6 months). Yay! Today we did a total body/cardio workout.

Re: Fitness Challenge

I did modified star jumps, did the squats, and did some of the burpees. I will have to finish up the burpees later. I will also be doing yoga and walking, as those help with flexibility and cardio. Looking over the 30 day challenge, they seem to mostly be strength moves, which are needed, but not everything.

I would totally make that trade lol.

Oh good for you! Is it any particular program?

That is true. I'm most looking to tone up though so I think it will be fine for me. There are many of those 30 day challenges--some target specific body parts, some cardio, etc, you are welcome to find something else if you'd rather.

We did go on a walk today but only a mile and at toddler pace. Eventually I'd like to do something like couch to five k but I never know how people work that kind of thing in with kids.

Re: Fitness Challenge

I'm in! I really need to improve my strength. Cardio and flexibility would be good too, but this seems like a great place to start.

Re: Fitness Challenge

Day 1 done. I traded the burpees out for pushups. Burpees make me light headed. Too much up and down.

This. How do people do all this stuff with kids? We've beem walking 2 miles every morning, and I'm going to try to do this 30 day challenge although jumping with a baby in me is probably going to be unpleasant so I might swap it out for something else. But still, it's something I can do at home with DS. I don't understand how people do intense workouts with kids! My neighbors recently asked me why they never seee out running anymore and I just stared at them. Although DS sits in the stroller for our 2 mi walk, I don't think he'd last long if I were running, plus running is SO much more work with a stroller.

How do you do a gym with kids? What do you do with the kids while you're at the gym?
