My Mood:
She's reading!

At 18 months, DD was so interested in letters and books and phonics that we half-expected her to read by three, but she broadened her interests and we haven't pushed her. She can recognize some full words, but has never seemed to understand that letters fit together in a certain order to make words. It's just been straight recognition, and she's just as apt to think that "FXO" spells fox as "FOX." This morning, though, DH showed her the words, "Katie the Kangaroo" and asked her if she knew what they were. She pointed to "Katie" and said, "cat" and to "kangaroo" and said, "can." Whee! ! !
