Re: Interested, when do you start?

Does EC make easier to totally potty train the kiddos when the time comes?

My experience is yes. It's seems natural for them to want to not wet or soil themselves, having not gotten used to sitting in a wet diaper. My dd is reliably dry now at 17 months old.

Re: Interested, when do you start?

So, is it ok to start when only a few weeks old? Or, is there no point until 2-3 months?

I found it easier to potty a baby with neck control, otherwise too wobbly for my comfort.

Re: Interested, when do you start?

What books do you suggest? I'm so happy to have found this site since I don't personally, know anyone who understands this method. My daughter isn't due till November but, I have the time now to read up at least.

How often are accidents when you stop diapering?

I started late-ish with my other 3. It went well. Putting them on the potty after nap is a good idea. Keep the potty in any room you're in is good too. They'll get it eventually. I also remember putting on youtube videos to keep them there.

This time around, I started the 4th at 6 months, when she started crawling. She couldn't jump off the potty, so she kind of had to sit there. The difference I notice between all of them is that the 4th baby always tries to go when I put her on. She knows better what a potty is for. If you're using cloth, it should be quicker for him/her to get it.
