Cloth diapers too bulky?

Hi! Has anyone heard anything about whether or not cloth diapering delays children learning to walk. I am wondering if the bulkyness of cloth diapers makes this more difficult. Also, are there any wraps that are less bulky than the super bright wraps (that is what we use now). Thanks a bunch!

I don't think it makes a difference really, maybe rolling over is a little more difficult with a bulky diaper, but not that much

I don't know what's trimmer than super bright wraps, do you use prefolds? prefolds/flat diapers are probably the trimmest

ETA: the difference in bulkiness really bothered me when we first started CD, but now I barely notice anymore

Not a chance! 50 years ago when all kiddos were cd'd, they learned to walk just fine at the same general time. The wraps generally aren't bulky. How old is your lo and what are you using underneath the wrap?

I haven't heard anything, and even though DD isn't walking by herself yet (she's only 8 mo) she walks around in her walker and when we're holding her just fine!

My DS started walking, running, jumping and climbing right on time - cloth diaper and all

I think that is a myth. My DS walked at 11 months and I walked at 10 and I was CD'd Nah! Kids have Whaaaaayyyy to much energy for a dipe to hold them down

I don't know about the covers ? . I used Bummis until I found wool, but I do know it has to depend on what kind of dipe you are using under it. For instance, Prefolds are more bulky then flats. What kind of dipe are you using? If you like the trim look, and don't mind purchasing more dipes, there are dipes out there that are more trim like the BG Organics and Flip and I think the GroVia is pretty trim though I haven't tried it yet HTH

No way!
My DD was walking at 9-10 months, DS was 12.5 months. DS was in trim-ish pockets but DD had a big fluffy butt with a "full coverage" fitted and wool or fleece soaker. Embrace the big fluffy bums! They are so cute and I am confident saying they don't hold them back with walking or any other milestone and they don't cause bow legs either!

Both of my kids walked at a little before a year. I don't think cloth diapers delay that skill at all. Plus, I love their big fluffy bums in cloth. I wouldn't have it any other way.

I so love the fluffy bottom! I loved it especially when she was a newborn- she just seemed sturdier with the cloth bum
