baby bjorn little potty--anyone have it?

DD is finally starting to show interest in using the potty and I'm totally new to the whole potty learning thing with a girl. We live in a fairly rural area without a lot of stops in between destinations. With DS, if we were driving somewhere and he needed to go potty, I would just pull over & let him pee on the side of the road. I suppose in theory that could work with DD as well, but from personal experience peeing on the side of the road is not quite as easy for a girl So I'm looking for a little potty chair that can easily fit in the car, easy to clean out, small...but not so small that DD is uncomfortable using it. I'm seeing the BabyBjorn little potty on FG and it seems like its what I'm looking for, but exactly HOW small is it? Think it would work or is there a better alternative?

It was too small for my boys but Kearnan was 5.5 before he potty learned and Tharen was a huge toddler (95% at least) so I'm sure that is part of it. I think if she is average sized or petite it would be great. Some dollar stores sell a similar sized and shaped potty and of course Ikea has one, more cost effective if you have one of these stores near you.

Yeah, the nearest Ikea is about 7 hours away The only potty chairs I've found around here are at Wal-Mart and none of them are very small at all.

Re: baby bjorn little potty--anyone have it?

I have the bblp DD used it around, IDK, 10 months? (we EC) and then preferred the toilet (and so did I, just flush and go!) but lately she's started using it again. (she's 22 mo but kinda small for her age, I think) oh and we used it in the car, too. But then I got lazy and she started not liking it in the car - she preferred to pee outside! Which was fine by me - way less to clean! I hold her thighs in my palms and rest her back against my belly. If you keep her knees up - the legs seem to stay out of the way and we've never gotten wet, yet! Keeping an extra set of clothing in the car is always a good idea anyway at this stage.

have fun - whatever you decide to do!

My kids were big for their age, but the potty you are suggesting (we "tried it on" at the store) was super TINY even for my 2 year old! We ended up getting the "potty chair", which ended up going in the car for the same reason you are suggesting, and it worked super. And I feel like it ended up being easier to empty than the small one because you just took out the inside cup.

We have the baby bjorn and we did keep it in the back of the car for a while for DD...it was used a good bit when she couldn't hold it til we got home. It was also used on trips when I didn't want her sitting on a rest stop toilet.

I had one, but it was way too small for my son. He's been at or above 97% always, though. He thought it made a wonderful basket to throw toys into, though!
