How long does it take for you to put your LO down for nap/bed?

DD is just over 20 months and has had issues off and on with sleeping/napping. We were going great for a while there, but now it seems to take forever to get her to go down for a nap or for bedtime... Just curious how long it takes others to do it too!

Please vote as well as post info on the age of your child and an estimate of how long it takes to get your LO to sleep for naps/bedtime.

Thanks for all your input!!

I voted for 15-30.During the day for her nap she falls asleep in about 5-10 minutes but t night it takes usually about 30 min. But she shares a room with her older sis, so I know that plays into it. Oh and she is almost 19months.

I voted 'less than 15 minutes' and my bubba is 23 months old
It actually takes less time than that for nap time! I change her diaper, rock her for about 2 minutes and then lay her in her bed, give her kisses and close the door! She goes right to sleep! For bedtime, it is the same thing... I just add brushing teeth and prayer time to the routine!
As far as how I got her to go to sleep so well... I think part of it was luck! She loves going to sleep. You can always tell when she really wants a nap, because she will say "thank you, mama" when I lay her down in her bed!
I also started laying her down in her bed at a very young age (like 1 month) for naps or quiet time. I would just wait until I knew she was tired and go lay her down. She never really cried because it was part of our daily routine from almost the beginning!

DS just turned 2 and he still nurses to sleep. We cuddle for about 5 minutes, then he nurses for 5-7 minutes, and he is out.
ETA: We co-sleep, if that matters

We are in a bad sleep cycle with DS1 right now so it's been taking a few hours to get him down the past 3 weeks.

For DS2, he gets his teeth brushed then I lay him down and walk out.

For DS1 (normally), he gets his teeth brushed, we read a book, cover him up, and walk out.

I voted 15-30, but it really depends. If DS wakes up early and needs two naps in a day, sometimes it can take an hour or more to get himdown for the second nap. For the first nap and bed time, however, it generally takes 20 minutes or less until he's asleep and I can get up.
He's 14 months. We co-sleep and he nurses to sleep.

Re: How long does it take for you to put your LO down for nap/bed?

once i lay him down, he is out for the count within 2-3 minutes if that. he doesnt make any noise or cry when i lay him down, so im guessing that he goes to sleep very quickly. he is 14 months old and has just recently started taking only 1 nap a day, in the early afternoon. he naps for about 2-3 hours (usually 2ish) and then he goes to sleep for the night at 8:30-9:00 and he sleeps until 7 or 8 am. he didnt start sleeping through the nite until he was about 1 year old, and he coslept with us frequently until he started sleeping through the nite.

DD is 18 months. Nap routine is diaper change, into the crib, see when you wake up. Bed time is about the same but we do bath, jammies, brush teeth, sing a song, night night, see you in the morning.

She rolls around for a few minutes and falls asleep. She's a great sleeper!!

2, 3, 5 and my kids have always settled down/fell asleep within 5-10 minutes of being put down for nap/sleep.
