Re: How long does it take for you to put your LO down for nap/bed?

I voted over an hour but that's just bedtime, at naptime DD (20 months) it takes me less than a minute to give her a kiss and put her in her room with a book.

At bedtime I have to lay down with her or she FREAKS out and then it usually takes a good hour or hour and a half for her to fall asleep. Not sure what it is about bedtime but she would scream and cry if I left her in her room like I do at naptime.

Afraid of the dark maybe?! I've given her nightlights, left the hall light on, nothing

DD is 13 months and if she's nursing to sleep and is tired, it's a matter of a few minutes, however we're working on teaching her to fall asleep by herself, so it usually includes me laying with her for a good hour and letting her fuss/cry until she falls asleep. We're facing the same problems in the middle of the night, we co sleep and she's still waking every hour or two to nurse back to sleep.

Re: How long does it take for you to put your LO down for nap/bed?

My older daughter used to go to sleep more quickly but now it is closer to 30 minutes, sometimes more. She is still required to stay in bed and stay quiet until she falls asleep. My younger is 10 months and is usually out fairly quickly, like less than 15 minutes, many times within a few minutes or less. Anytime that they deviate too far from the schedule I know that it is time to drop a nap or change the schedule.

Less than 15 minutes.

DS is 6 and DD is almost 22 months, and they both go to bed (and nap, for DD) immediately. My daughter is a really, really good sleeper. Once she's done nursing I just lay her down, say goodnight, and leave the room while she's still wide awake. She's been able to fall asleep 100% on her own since before she was a year old. When my son was that young he would take about 15-20 minutes of rocking and singing to settle enough to sleep and most of the time he'd have to be just about asleep before I could lay him down. I'm glad DD is so much better!

It varies on her actually falling asleep, but she's always put down in about 5 minutes & usually quiet within another 2 minutes. At naps, I just change her diaper & put her down w/ her bink. At night we change her diaper, put on her jammies, say our prayers, & put her down with her bink. Then we leave the room & she's happy. So I chose less than 15 min.

I didn't vote because it varies so much. Naps are always almost instant. Tonight it took about 15 minutes for bedtime, but sometimes it is almost an hour.

I didn't vote because it varies. Sometimes he's exhausted and goes right to sleep sometimes he will jabber up to an hour but i just let him go and he falls asleep, he doesn't cry he just has a good time in there! When he was younger he would go to sleep faster and at times still does. I did the same and started putting him down for naps when he was nb in his crib to get used to it. He's 15 months now and still sleeps 11-13 hours and take at least one nap for about 1 1/2 hours.

Long enough to kiss him, hug him, tell him how loved he is, and lay him in his crib. Maybe 90 seconds? This is the same for the 27 month old and the 8 month old and the 5 year old.
