Sew your own Baby Wrap from tablecloth

Does anyone know of instructions on how to do this?

Is it easier than I think - just cut in half lengthwise & sew together/seam??

Wondering what fabric options would be nice for summer - so excited!

Re: Sew your own Baby Wrap from tablecloth

There's a great thread about this on the TBW forum, but yeah, it's basically about finding a tablecloth and hemming it to the right width. Personally, I don't recommend having a seam in the middle of the wrap -- it creates a weak point which could rip or tear. Shop around for longer tablecloths...

You can find cotton/linen blend tablecloths - great for summer!

Another cheap-o option that a lot of mamas like is onsaburg fabric -- available online or at Joanns. It feels a bit stiff to me, but I hear it softens up eventually.

I searched high and low for tablecloths, but couldn't find anything that worked. So I ended up buying 100% linen, and splitting a wrap with another mama. It ended up costing me only 20 bucks -- woohoo!
