Nicknames for Godmothers?

I am the godmother to my sisters brand new DS, and need a name for him to call me! I know most people call their Godmother Nanny but that is what my DS calls my sister and I think that would be too confusing! Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Re: Nicknames for Godmothers?

I've never heard of a Godmother getting a special name and I'm Catholic (as is my whole family and the God-Parent role is taken pretty seriously). Your sister new DS should be calling you aunty as far as I've always known. Good luck
I'm curious where do you live that Nanny is used for godmother? Around here that is another form of grandmother like Nana, Grammy, Noni, etc

My suggestion isn't really for a godmother exactly but my kids call my mom "Meme" (Mimi?)

I think it's cute for a grandmother or godmother.

I live right outside of New Orleans, I don't know if it's a southern thing or a cajun thing but most everyone I know calls their godparents Nanny and Parrain (prounounced Pah-ran).

Well, the French for godmother is Marraine, so you could do that.

Marraine or Mimi (meme) do sound really cute

Thanks for letting me know I always like to hear about different regional things

I call my godparents ma- and pa- raaine

My godkids call me Nana (long a).

We're in Cali, we're Catholic, my godparents, grandparents, and mother are creole.

ETA: My sons call their godmother 'godmom'
