Re: anyone ever wish for twins?

I was a twin and my mom m/c the other around 12 weeks. I have always felt a strong bond/attachment/curiousity of twins.

When I was 5 I told my mom the difference between identical twins and fraternal. I had a dream about it. So weird.

Anyway, we hope our next pregnancy is twins. DH wants Irish twins if we don't have regular twins. Not that we can really plan either situation, but we can try.

I always wanted twins until my sister had them. Twins are A. LOT. OF. WORK. My kids are close enough (15m). Can't image the sleep deprivation with twins.

I've always been fascinated with twins (especially identical twins). When I was a little girl I was going to have twin girls.. at least that is what I told everyone. And now that I'm expecting twin girls.. I'm ecstatic.

Re: anyone ever wish for twins?

I've never really wished for twins because I grew up with identical twin sisters and they seemed like a handful but then at my last prenatal in May the MW found 2 heartbeats and we decided to wait until the next appt to find out more. I spent nearly the entire month hoping it was twins, preparing my heart for the possibility of twins. I went back last week and it seems like there is only one baking and I am more than ok with that. One baby is all I was expecting beforehand. I can say that I am much more fond of the idea of twins after this tremendous experience!

Re: anyone ever wish for twins?

Dp and my sister have decided that the next baby will be twins, lol.

While I don't think I would mind twins I would prefer them one at a time - though I almost wish they are right because it would be funny. They talk about the 'twins' all the time.

I think it would be neat when they are older, but seeing the posts of all the twin mommies during pregnancy and the baby years I would have to say no thanks Singleton pregnancy is hard enough and with enough complications that can arise, and twins just multiplies that.

Re: anyone ever wish for twins?

I can understand if you lost a twin that you would wish for twins! I've think before I had kids, that I thought having twins would be neat. Now that I have children, I say that I don't really think I would want twins, but I'd rather have twins over no babies at all. DD2 has been asking lately, "When are we going to have another baby? Two babies?" We were recently at a LLL meeting where a mama had twin girls, so I think that is were DD2 is getting this from.

Re: anyone ever wish for twins?

Twins run in my family (all birthed at or near 40 weeks, and all birthed naturally/vaginally, for generations now ) and I'm 39 and pregnant with my 4th... I soooo wanted twins! I was really disappointed that this was only one baby, especially since theoretically I'd like to have five kids but I don't know that I want to be pregnant again after 40.

I didn't, but got them my first pregnancy. We were thrilled, would love to have twins again.

Re: anyone ever wish for twins?

My aunts always said that they felt in many ways twins were easier than single births, because they keep each other occupied.
