With my singleton I had so much more time to enjoy every smile and milestone. It was awesome!!!
Don't get me wrong, I love, love my twins and they are totally fun to have, but I think I would prefer them one at a time. I have 2 sets now so it seems God wants me to do it His way, 2 by 2.

That said, I think it's normal, especially since you lost one. Lots and lots of people tell me they always wanted twins when they see mine. I never wanted them though.

Can't say I have ever felt that way. Maybe when they get older, but being pregnant and having newborn and toddler twins...my single was MUCH easier so far. Now, my second set of twins has been much easier (not the pregnancy), but that's because I have BTDT not because they are "better" babies or anything.

Re: anyone ever wish for twins?

I love my twins, but I didn't wish for twins. Especially after my first child was such a difficult infant (the twins were easy in comparison)! I really enjoy being pregnant, but I don't want a lot of kids, so I feel like I kind of missed out on that last, third pregnancy I had planned for. However, the experience of carrying twins was priceless and in the end I wouldn't trade it (or them!) for anything!

Re: anyone ever wish for twins?

i am an identical twin and people kept saying that i would have twins...which is just not the way it works.
my mother had two twin pregnancies back-to-back. Unfortunately the first one ended at 24 weeks and both of them died. My sister and i were born at 31 weeks and ended up fine, but i would be worried about a twin pregnancy.

Of course by the time we were born my mother was so happy to have another chance at twin girls that she can't even remember if it was hard work- she was "so happy".

I know that it would be harder to do a lot of th e attachment parenting things that i love so much (EC, babywearing, co-sleeping) with two babies. i have my hands full with the one!

I did before I had my first, but when I realized how much work one baby was I was completely glad to only have had one at a time!

Re: anyone ever wish for twins?

For me, the thought of twins is wonderful and I would absolutely welcome a twin pregnancy. However, the reality of twins: lots and lots of work! I'm good with singles.

Re: anyone ever wish for twins?

I've always wanted twins even before I started trying to conceive. Both pregnancies I hoped it would show twins, but never got them. I keep hoping somehow they missed a second baby this time, but I supposed with technology the chances of that are slim to none. Even after I had my first, I kept telling everyone my only complaint is she is just one and not two.

(my mom is a twin, and my husbands grandmother was a twin) watch our siblings get the twins!)

I long for twins! I am a twin and will surely say, it IS something special. I think it skips a gen. in our family line, so I probably won't have them. Anytime I hear someone has twins, I think HOW LUCKY!
