Check-ups :)

Figured I'd start a thread for check-ups. Since most of the babies are reaching the 2 month mark, anyways.

Kalliann had her 2 month check-up today (although she'll be 3 months on the 19th.) She's doing wonderful, we declined shots until 6 months. She is 13 lbs. 8.5 oz. and 25.5" long. That puts her at 80% for weight and she's completely off the charts for length.

Re: Check-ups :)

Cecilia's 2 month is tomorrow. We're going to do a modified version of the alternative vaccination schedule Dr Sears recommends. We're not doing MMR and Hep B until school age, since she's not going to be in a daycare situation. Tomorrow is DTaP and Rotavirus.

There is a part of me that doesn't want to vaccinate her at all, but my husband and I have talked about it in depth, and he is very strongly for the vaccinations. Our compromise was selective vaccination.

As far as the rest of the checkup goes, I know how much she weighs on my home scale (9 lbs 11 oz), which is up a couple of pounds from her weight at her 2 week appointment. I'm sure plenty of babies grow a lot faster than her, but I don't think she's going to be FTT or anything. I was pretty small myself, and her pedi knows that. I'm interested to see where her percentiles are now though; she was 10 for height and weight and 35 for head at her 2 week. My little egghead...

Aimee, I wouldn't even worry about FTT. Kimberlyn is almost 27 months old. She had her 2 yr. check up today w/Kalli's 2 month. She is 23 lbs. 6 oz. and 34.5" tall. She's 40% for weight and 5% for height.

Aimee, definitely don't worry about FTT. That's when they AREN'T growing and gaining, and Cecilia is definitely doing both!

As of yesterday (3m1d) Liam is 13lbs 12.8oz and 24.25in. It puts him at 95th percentile adjusted, but just above 50th for his actual age. Not too shabby for a baby who wasn't even born on the charts!

Re: Check-ups :)

Well we had his three month appointment a couple of weeks ago (even though he will be 3 months Sunday). It was really just for vaccs but he got weighed anyway. He was 14lbs 8oz there and I measured him yesterday at 25ish inches. I dont know percentiles for now, but he was in 90th for both so we will see at his 4 month check up next month.

Re: Check-ups :)

Aimee~ We selective, delay vax. We don't do the rotavirus at all. I just never felt it was necessary. I allow them to give up to 2 shots at 1 visit starting at 6 months and my pedi has our vax schedule so she knows which shots to give and when. She'll get shots at 6 mos, 9 mos, 12 mos, etc.

Robyn~ Awesome on the growth for little man!! Thats a really good weight for him having come into this world so small!

Dawn~ it sounds like he's just perfect

Ciera~ I can't believe Jake is already a whole pound (or more!) bigger than Kalli now!!! Gosh, these babies are growing way too fast!

Re: Check-ups :)

Cecilia's two month went well today. She is in the 20th percentile for height and weight, up from 10th, and, unsurprisingly, 50th percentile for head, up from 25th. Papa and I both have big heads. She's 9 lbs 10 oz, 21.5" long, and 15.35" head circumference.

I was able to nurse her during the one injection she got, and I think it helped, although she was very mad at the nurse for sticking her!

Re: Check-ups :)

oh snap...I think Athena's is next week? She's 8 weeks now but still.

We won't do shots until at least 6 months and we are quite selective as well. I probably won't start hers until 12 months. I need to make the schedule before the appointment, though. LOL.
