Re: Toddler Wearing??

I wore DD#2 till she was three years old! I used a Maya wrap and still use one with DD#3 who is now 12 months. I wish I had known about mei teis and the Ergo I would have worn her longer (I had to quit with the ring sling because I was pregnant but you can use a MT when pregnant!) Check out the babywearer.com--there is a FSOT--you could pick up a modestly priced carrier there! HOpe this helps!

I still wear my ds at 21 months old! I definetly think it is something you can do!! I like the more structured carriers for the older ones though...they seem to distribute the weight a little better! HTH!

Re: Toddler Wearing??

I wanted to add that I wore my 42 lb 4 year old today in my Ergo and it was easy peasy. So I agree with the pp who said a more structure for more weight.

Re: Toddler Wearing??

I started wearing my DD when she was 3 months old and then we recently stopped about 2 months after she turned 4.

I think I paid $28 for it shipped which was a good price for a new one, but I think if you look around you could find something similar used, or WAHM made that is affordable. I like using the sling not just around the house, but also when we're out in public, because I don't have to worry about her diving out of a cart, or running off on me. You might find the sling useful when taking care of other kids at daycare too.
What's a UBW?

Ultimate Baby Wrap. I think it's similar to a Moby Wrap, but not sure.

Re: Toddler Wearing??

I wear my 2.5 year old. I use a sling to carry him on my hip or back when we are shopping, or if he isn't feeling good. I also have a wrap (just 5 yards of material with serged edges, super easy and very cheap to make) that is much better for times when he's going to be riding for a long time.

Re: Toddler Wearing??

I where my DS who is nearing 40 pounds all the time. I use a woven wrap. Pretty pricey but worth it. If you want to see if she likes to be worn and you like wrapping you can get some gauze fabric at the fabric store and try that for a few days
