Best flat fold for a toddler?

I was just folding my flats up like a prefold and then trifolding in
a cover, but my DD can't wear our PUL covers anymore, so I'm trying fleece wraps with her, but now the trifolding won't work.

I've been doing the "diaper bag fold" and the kite fold, but they either get really loose around the legs or are too narrow in the crotch. I just can't seem to get it right. I've tried the origami fold and I'm just too ditzy to figure it out I think.

Which folds do you mamas like for your toddlers?

Can you link to the "diaper bag fold" I've not heard of that one. U can use the same fold you trifolded with and angel wing it or jelly roll it.

Here's the diaper bag fold (love it, but it's not working on my toddler lately). http://www.diaperswappers.com/forum/...d.php?t=405857

I'd have to really play with the trifold and angel wing because the width and rise need to be way bigger than what they'd be for just laying in a cover.

I really like the neat fold with the legs jelly rolled for my 2 yr old. He wears wool over them.

I like the modified kite fold that was pictured on the flats picture thread. I can REALLY get the legs tight on that one. And also annoyingly enough, just folding the flat into the size of a prefold and then folding it angel wing style works great for us.

And I have read people really like the rosie posie angel wing which is sort of similar. I tried all the folds I could find for a few diaper changes and these work the best for my 13 month old for now.

Re: Best flat fold for a toddler?

Ooh, the neat fold...hmm...I just watched a youtube video of that one and it might work. Next diaper change I'm going to try it - thanks!

I've been playing with the kite fold (doing the modified) and I can't get the width wide enough and still have a wide enough crotch to work with. It seems like if I fold it to where I have enough width, it makes the bottom part too narrow to roll in. And when I snappi it on her, the legs end up flaring out. I'll have to keep working on it. It worked great when she was smaller though, so I have hope.

I'll look into the rosie posie one.

Any others? If it helps, DD is 2.5 and weighs around 30 lbs (prob a little less).
