Anyone know whats causing this?

So, every evening (like clockwork) around 8PM I get a pain in my left side. Its almost like a back ache but in my side (below my ribs, above my hips). It hurts when I inhale and kinda feels like muscle pain.

I remember getting this when I was preggo with DD too...

So, does anyone have any idea what's causing it?!? It generally goes away when I lay down to sleep. Do you think its just general, weird muscle fatigue? When am I even using that muscle? and why on my left side?

I always seem to get weird aches and pains with pregnancy... ah, the joys...

I'm having the EXACT same problem (also left side). I asked my midwife and she said that when you get pregnant your diaphragm isn't as effective for breathing due to the baby bump. So your muscles under your arms work extra hard to make your chest open up so air can come and go, and since this is a new job for them they get really tired. Especially at the end of the day!

The sad part is there's not a whole lot you can do. Because it is a muscle ache you can try a warm bath or a warm compress. Rest helps a lot too.

I was going to say gas, LOL. The breathing/muscles thing sounds a lot better

It's too high to be gas, mostly under my ribs on my left side towards my back. It sucks... If only it was gas!

I get a similar ache, although not every day yet, where it feels like my ribs are gonna break from being so expanded. My chiro helps with it, at least.

DS1 bruised my ribs and I had the same feeling you are describing! But it was constant not something that happened only in the evening, so Lin is probably right!
