Give me a break, Mastitis!!

I have had Mastitis not, once, twice but 4 times now! This being the worst case by far.. I have it in both breasts and my lo is suffering.. I have been nursing, pumping, heat packing my breasts like crazy and it finally gave way. But my supply took a huge hit due to not being able to empty my breasts for almost 4 days.. What do I do, my almost 9mo EBF DD was starving and I felt horrible so I resorted to buying some formula for her to get some fluids.. I know, I know but I have been letting her nurse and also pumping and nothing still seems to be coming out now they are clear. Breasts are not getting full they stay soft and I'm getting really upset.. I don't know what to do.. Please help..

Re: Give me a break, Mastitis!!

I know very little, however I think you can get a lot of help from your local La Leche League and also at www.kellymom.com they have a forum there too and it's more about BF'ng than here.

I hope that helps mama!!

Re: Give me a break, Mastitis!!

I had mastitis a number of times when DS was a baby. This time I started taking lecithin supplements after the very first time I had a plugged duct and since then I haven't had any more plugged ducts.
