breast milk bath

DD ate a melon yesterday and broke out in a rash, with in minutes of pooping, her skin is raw and in a few places, broken.

the clinics are closed and the ER is not worth the wait, being around sick people, for 5+ hours in the lobby, not counting the rest of the visit.

We only have A&D, was not doing much, but being naked did help.

But any time she peed she would scream for a long time, even if she was sleeping.....so painful it woke her.

I have a deep freezer full of milk. It is basically going to waste since I can not donate it, not that it is bad, and I over produce milk, so if I ever HAD to have more milk I could pump enough.

So I took about 1 gallon and warmed it to a bit above room temp and DD had a nice soak in the tub, full of breast milk.

her bottom is looking a ton better. I also rubbed the milk all over her hair and body. She has cradle cap, and it looks better now, her skin is so soft now too!

LOL, I LOVE that you got pictures of that!! I started using my bm in my eyes because my allergies are making them awful. It works better than eye drops!
I seriously love all the good stuff BM does!

never thought to use them in my eyes....I always need eye drops because my eyes are always to dry and my contacts stick, and I can never see.....I use water...haha, not anymore, my boobs are closer!

I heard BM was good for burns and stuff like that, I did not have any hydrocortizone cream(what my mom said to use) so I thought a milk bath would be better,

Re: breast milk bath

That is awesome! Glad you got pictures. Haha!

I had pink eye a few weeks ago and was so upset I don't know any nursing mamas (all of my friends/family FF - I was the "weird" one. Boo.) Breastmilk cures so much!

Re: breast milk bath

Makes perfect sense! Good job! I was at Target the other day & they sell an "organic buttermilk bath" which would probably cause a SEVERE allergic reaction in my milk protein senstive child.....but a breastmilk bath would be great!

When he was tiny, we would take baths together to calm him down & my boobs would leak the entire time...by the time we were done the water was always cloudy from milk!
