Castile soap...what's the deal?

I remember reading about it at some point, but can't remember if it's good or bad for dipes and/or wool. According to the package on Dr Bronner's it's great for everything....but I know better than to believe the makers of the product!!
What do you guys know about it??

Re: Castile soap...what's the deal?

When my first son was a baby it was the natural thing to wash diapers in, although pockets weren't huge yet. If you have a lot of fleece it may eventually need to be stripped but it used to work fine on my cotton fitteds years ago.

I emailed pinstripes and polkadots about this and she said :
"Soaps are not recomended for use at all with pocket diapers. Soap tends to react with water and leave a film on the diapers much like ring around the tub. Planet is a better choice because it is a detergent rather than a soap."

She mentions Planet because I was saw that on her site it and looked like a good alternative for me. See has a list of detergents and how they work on dipes on her site.
