I think it's time to stop working
I can't take it anymore. I need to work because we need the money, but I'm just done. I can't stand it!
![]() I'm just not sure how to tell them...

Re: I think it's time to stop working
When were you supposed to be done? I made it to two weeks before my due date but it was difficult. I only worked half days the last 2 weeks because sitting was awful. Who do you have to talk to. I am sure they will be accomodating, don't they have to be??

Re: I think it's time to stop working
Well, I was *supposed* to be done June 30th because they were ending my contract. I was sad about the money (hubby is unemployed) but happy for the time. Then they asked me to extend and I thought, sure, why not? I need the money. I'll just work until baby comes, even though I won't get to spend extra time with my kids beforehand.
Now I'm totally regretting it. I'm a week into my extension and sitting here is killing me, getting up early is horrible... I don't even know who to talk to, that's really the thing. This isn't the most organized contract extension on earth LOL. I'm thinking I might call out "sick" tomorrow and see how I feel Monday. Then I'm not committing to anything! I'm over 38 weeks now and I've had a 38 and 39 weeker prior to this, so... But every day I don't work we don't get paid. That's the real problem

Re: I think it's time to stop working
If you really want to quit could you maybe ask the doc to write a note for you? I planned on working until the beginning of July and informed work but I had it by the end of June. I just asked the OB to write me a note to take me off and she had no problem doing so. Kind of took out the anxiousness of having to talk to work about it. Once they saw it they didn't ask anymore questions lol. Honestly though I kind of regret it. I miss having my own income and the few hrs I got out of the house.

Re: I think it's time to stop working
Could you work from home? I was supposed to work up until two days before I was due, but like you I was miserable (and it was affecting my attitude and interactions with others). I talked to my supervisor and basically told him I didn't want to go into labor at work. He very quickly approved me to work at home!
