Re: Tell me about Houston...

I live out in Baytown - not very crunchy.

Montrose is about as crunchy as they come

Several of my friends have given birth at the birthing center in Pasadena - they have all had wonderful experiences. I personally gave birth via-c-section at Women's hospital.

There are definitely a ton of museums, parks, attractions and such in the area.

A couple of weekends ago I went to a CDing store in the tomball area - it was really nice.
Katy is nice - but it's getting soo big and just overcrowded IMHO. I also feel the same about Sugarland.

Re: Tell me about Houston...

Well, it looks like we are moving the first week of october!!!!

My husband will poss. be working in Baytown AND Montrose, so we will be somewhere in between????

Right now we have to find somewhere to live and well, there is ALOT to deal with...

I spoke to the birth center at Pasedena, and the lady I spoke to was lovely, plus my current midwife recommended them.

Oh gosh, I am nervous and excited!

Re: Tell me about Houston...

There really isn't anything good on I-10 East of downtown Houston. I would recomend somewhere in Passadena, Deer Park, LaPorte; or even Baytown.

Baytown has some really nice areas; and the cost of living is lower than other areas.

What is the name of the midwife in Pasadena? I think it's where 3 of my friends just recently gave birth; all having wonderful experiences. (doh, just read my post earlier and I see I said that already).

Re: Tell me about Houston...

I live in Pearland and there is a birthing center very close by. It is called Rite of Passage. DH and I have lived in Pearland for about 2.5 years and we really like it. I am finding more and more crunchy moms here, more than I ever thought I would find.

Yea, that's who all my friends go to - they say she's great

One said she had her pap 6 weeks after her baby was born and didn't even know that she actually did it.
