Indianapolis mommies!?

We're travelling to Indy in October and we'll be downtown (without a car). What is there to do with kiddos? AND....are there any cloth diapering/baby boutiques in the vicinity?

Thanks for any input!!

Re: Indianapolis mommies!?

More Indy mommies might see this if you post it in Great Lakes instead of Great Plains.

The Indianapolis Zoo and Botanical Gardens are a very reasonable walk from most hotels in Indianapolis. You can walk along the canal to a bridge that goes over White River to get there.

There are several small greenspaces downtown where your kids could get out and run around. The largest one is Military Park, which is right next to the canal (but above it in elevation so you don't have to worry about the water) and the Indiana State Museum. The State Museum is really cool, but I've never tried to take a child, so I'm not sure if much in there would hold a three year old's interest.

If you could find a way to get there, the Children's Museum is really cool, unfortunately it's not walking distance.

I've heard there is a CD store in Indy, but I'm not sure since I moved a way before we had kids.
