How long do you cook a roast?

I am getting a roast for tomorrow but not sure how long I should cook it in the oven for. I will have the oven on 350. Thanks!

Do you have a crockpot by chance? Those are the best for roasts! I've never cooked one in an oven though...

I cook mine in the oven for 2 1/2 - 3 hours. Here's how I do mine I coat the roast in dry onion soup mix and wrap in foil. (Actually I put the foil in the pan and then coat so as to contain the mess, then close it all up).
