When I make strawberry cake, I cute my berries up the night before and let them sit in the fridge. And then when I go to mix up my batter, I pour in the extra strawberry juice and it makes a pretty pink cake.

I have gotten a light pink cake before by mixing in some cherries and their juice.

Re: pink cake... without dye?

i've been looking for all natural food coloring for my dd's bday cake (the frosting) and found this site
http://www.seelecttea.com/index.php?cPath=41
It's pretty expensive though.

I often let frozen raspberries sit out and defrost all night then drain off the juice and use it to dye things. Works pretty well for me. Good luck!

I never thought to use fruit!! I don't know why!! But, I thought of using beets. I made ds a chocolate beet cake and he had no idea that there were beets in it! But, it probably wouldn't be good with a white cake
