Re: Have you become super sensitive to fragrances?

YEAP! I use to use Tide and Gain. It has been about a year now. I had to wash some of my moms clothes when her washer broke. I thought what the hey I will wash one load of ours in this smelly stuff (Gain). DH broke out all over. It also now happens with Tide. My Dh has turned super sensitive to the fragrance since we don't use it anymore.

I forgot to add. My sister came over today to pick up daughter up (sleep over). And my ODD (8) said wow you stink! That lotion stinks. I think it was Bath and Body works. And it was really strong. I use to love B&B works. I still have some of the lotion and use it only if I feel in the mood to be really flowery smelling.

Yes, especially scented detergents. Tide is a major offender.

My mom washes her clothes in so much detergent softener with sheets & it's just gross. When we see my parents, it's like they bathed in detergent and softener. When she gives me clothes I have to soak and wash them many times and still I smell it. You can see the soap come out of them too. I love eo's myself though, but some are really nasty.

Re: Have you become super sensitive to fragrances?

Yes, I (and my husband) first noticed it at my MILs house when we got there and she had just cleaned her bathroom. It was awful! I also notice it a lot more when I go into toy stores and shoe stores and such since we have been trying to avoid plastics/vinyl/etc.

I don't get a headache but oh yes I have noticed that I am much more sensitive to the fragrances.

omg yes noticed this when we switched to unscented bath stuff. Also when I buy second hand clothes I have to wash them repeatedly to get rid of the stink sometimes.

I think I am more aware of smells but it is not just synthetic ones versus natural. (they are all chemicals, you know). I cannot stand the smell of white vinegar. I mean, I hate it. So, that bugs me. But, yes, detergent smells are too much for me, especially fabric softener. And man made household smelly things, like plug ins and such, are icky.

But I am also just more sensitive to smells, period. I think my nose just works better.

Re: Have you become super sensitive to fragrances?

They don't affect me physically but yes, I can certainly pick them a mile away....perfumes and laundry detergents are the worst. I bought my oldest ds 3 pairs of jeans off ebay....in nearly new condition but blech, I think they used fabric softener on them or something, it took about 3 washes to get the detergenty smell out.

I don't go down the detergent aisle at all now.
