Question Mama's of 3....

What kind of vehicle do you drive? Right after having ds, we bought 2009 Forester, and now that we are expecting #3 (not in the plan at the time ) I have read that getting 3 across in a Forester is all but impossible. DD will be 5 1/2 by the time the baby is born, so I could move her to a HBB, but even then, it will be TIGHT... not even sure it can be done. So, just wandering what kinds of cars are good for 3 little one's. We are not really wanting to go the van route, and don't want a huge SUV... wanting to know what works

I only have 2 kids but we drive an Infiniti QX56 and have had 2 people in the 3rd row very comfortably. It seats 7 and if you have a bench 2nd row (we have captain's chairs) it can seat 8.

we have a honda odyssey, for our 3, our Saturn Vue was close to impossible and definitely not comfy.

We have a volkswagon station wagon. The third will be here in September and I already tried there seat out to make sure it fits. There is a lot of room in the trunk area and we have a roof rack for trips.

Re: Mama's of 3....

We have a sequoia with a 3rd row. But in rentals I have had 3 across in an expedition, an impala and a maxima. I've also had them 3 across in a smaller suv but I can't remember the name of it. It really depends on the type/brand of carseats you have. The last time we rented they gave me a forester first and OMG it was immpossible with the carseats that I have. I have 2 nautilis and 1 alpha omega elite. It was just a really really hard install. They had to switch us to something else. You should ask in the carseat forum, they would know

Re: Mama's of 3....

I have a Kia Sorento and have DD1 in a Clek Oto backless booster, DD2 in a Snugride35 and DS in a Nautilus. I had to search the city to find an Oto booster because they are discontinued and managed to find one of the few left in the store and it was already 3 years old. It doesnt have arms on it, just a platform with seatbelt guides on either side.

If I needed DD1 in a HBB, I would put the other 2 in Radians. With Radians, you can get 3-across in pretty much any vehicle. I know Diana (Calideedle) had 3-across in her Jetta.

Re: Mama's of 3....

The Chevy Traverse are NICE, but my DH didn't like that they back seats rolled instead of lifting forward to get into the 3rd row. He knew that they were going to get jammed at some point if not lubed at all time, and the mud, food, dirt, juice, liquid, rain...ect would get in and he'd have to clean in....
So....we bought a Ford Expedition. It looks big but DOES NOT feel big! I LOVE IT! Most of the time our girls sit in the back with thier boosters, but we have fit our Graco My Ride 65 RF'ing, Graco HBB and a Graco Booster with ease!....

We are also looking into getting a Honda Odessey!

I have an 07 Honda Odyssey and I wouldn't give it up for anything. If I put all 3 across in DH's wagon, they fit, but they are forever fiddling with and bothering each other. So nice to have one less issue to deal with in my van. Plus everyone has cupholders and toy bins so its peaceful minivan travel for us!
